Recommendation for filling grade, relevant
guidelines
With the use of cable protection systems there is often the question regarding
the filling grade resp. filling factor. This describes how strong a cable protection
conduit can be filled or shall be filled with cables and / or wires relating
to the available cross section.
Basically, PMA recommends not to overstep the filling
grade of 70% (application specific guidelines and standards have to be
additionally considered). The function manner has not been unnecessarily affected
through increased friction between the single wires at dynamically moved systems.
Furthermore, an after installation of additional wires and / or cables is made
possible if there is a requirement.
